At the weekend over a thousand riders took part in the return of the Woking Bikeathon and the events return can only be described as a huge success!

The event was made possible by the sponsors, Trident Honda of Ottershaw & Weybridge, Bourne Valley Garden Centre, Barlow Robbins Solicitors and Freedom Leisure, working in conjunction with Woking Borough Council. Help was also provided by The Woking Advertiser, who came in as the event's media partner and were a great support throughout the build up to the event, as well as attending the event itself.

After 12 frustrating years for both ourselves and local community, the council have recognised the problem that was caused by erecting the bollards along the boundary with our site and are now working to correct the problem.

Whilst the council had always accepted our right to have vehicle deliveries, they had wrongly calculated that there would be sufficient space for both a vehicle transporter and the normal traffic. Although that is indeed the case for cars and motorcycles, there is insufficient space for vans and lorries, which then causes the delays that we all know so well.

We are very proud that last night our Managing Director Richard Roberts was presented with the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, an award rarely given to someone outside of the Rotary organisation.
