Honda has confirmed official fuel economy and CO2 emissions for two new 2018 models, including the upgraded Civic 1.6-litre i-DTEC, which offers fuel economy of up to 3.5 l/100km (80.7 mpg) on the NEDC test.
Comprehensive revisions to the 120 PS 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine for the all-new Honda Civic range endow it with an outstanding combination of performance and efficiency. The improvements reduce cylinder friction, improve the efficiency of NOx conversion, and further develop the driveability of the car.
Under the combined cycle of the revised NEDC test, the new Civic 1.6 i-DTEC has achieved low CO2 emissions of 93g/km, with official average fuel economy of 3.5 l/100km (80.7 mpg) recorded for all grades.
The other new model tested is the 2018 Honda Jazz, which has a fresh look and the addition of a 130 PS 1.5 i-VTEC petrol engine - introduced in response to customer demand for a more powerful variant.Continue Reading

Honda has triumphed at the inaugural Workshop Magazine awards, picking up Car of the Year with the Jazz and the coveted Manufacturer of the Year.
Readers voting for the Jazz praised the car's logical design which makes it simple to repair. It was also noted that parts are readily available from Honda. Similarly, the manufacturer of the year was voted for by readers and Honda was commended for its efficiency and strong relationships with workshops.
Aimed at garage owners, managers and automotive technicians, Workshop magazine held its first awards last night at the Brewery in London celebrating and recognising the best and brightest in the industry.
Trident Dealer Principal and Commercial Director, Steve Henderson, says:
Whilst Honda's reliability is well known, what perhaps is less well known is what the motor industry itself thinks of Honda. These awards demonstrate that even within the motor trade Honda's reliability and commitment to its product is legendary.
We would like to offer our congratulations to Honda for yet another well deserved award.

The Honda Jazz has been named Most Reliable Small Car in What Car? magazine’s 2017 Reliability Survey, with the owners of the popular supermini reporting no faults with their car.
The survey - published in the December issue of Britain’s leading consumer automotive magazine - asked owners of 14,208 cars to ask if their cars had suffered any faults in the last 12 months.
These were classified into 14 groups: battery, bodywork, brakes, engine electrics, exhaust, exterior lights, fuel system, gearbox/clutch, interior trim, non-engine electrics, steering, suspension and other. The cost and length of the repair were also used to weight the severity of the fault and create a reliability rating.
The magazine reports:
Not one Honda Jazz owner who completed the survey reported any faults with their car, giving the little Japanese hatchback a perfect reliability score.

The new Jazz has an updated, sportier design. All built with performance in mind.
For 2016, the Jazz is home to distinctive new styling - including a new face with a bold front grille, sculpted bumpers, and strong, sweeping lines. All round, it's a powerful new look.
The Jazz keeps its classic silhouette, but the stronger, tougher design has grown the chassis to improve legroom for rear-seat passengers. Each curve and arch has been purposefully refined to improve both fuel efficiency and handling, too.
With a much lower profile than before, the Jazz's chassis also has an enhanced centre of gravity. The body sits on steel or alloy wheels that finish the sporty look - choose whichever suits you best.Continue Reading

The European Organisation of Consumers and Users (OCU) has carried out a survey with more than 30,000 European drivers asking about the reliability of their cars. According to this survey Honda is the most reliable brand, with users choosing the Honda Jazz as the most reliable vehicle.
The OCU received more than 70,000 evaluations from drivers, to determine the common malfunctions on each car. These malfunctions were then weighted by severity. Based on these results Honda was the most reliable brand.
According to the survey malfunctions are surprisingly common, with 16% of drivers being left stranded and Alfa Romeo, Dodge and Ssangyong were the most likely to have suffered a breakdown.
Honda Motor Europe's Senior Vice President, Philip Ross, says:
Reliability and quality are synonymous with the Honda brand. It is important for Honda to ensure that customers can experience the joy of owning a Honda vehicle and enjoy driving then with the peace of mind that the cars are among the least likely to experience breakdowns.
The highest rated vehicle was the Honda Jazz 1.2 (last time it was the Honda Jazz 1.4!).Continue Reading
