Trident Honda: When did you join the motor trade?

Daryl Watson - your new Service Advisor

We are delighted to welcome Daryl Watson to our Service Team. Daryl has over 20 years motor trade experience, and, although new to the Honda franchise, is already proving to be an asset to the team.

Daryl lives locally in Addlestone, with his partner. When not at work, he is a keen follower of both motorsport and football, and, like many during the COVID-19 pandemic, has also recently taken up cooking.

Aftersales Controller - Mark Holman

We are delighted to introduce our new Aftersales Controller, Mark Holman, who joined us in December. Mark joins our service reception team in a new role that we have created in response to our expanding customer base.

Justin Creber, Craig Tabiner and Roger Reid from the Trident Otters

Woking Rotary Club held their 12th annual Swimathon event at the Woking Pool in the Park on Sunday 13th October 2019.

Trident Honda has been the main sponsor for the event every year since its inception 12 years ago. This year we again had two teams competing in the event - The Trident Honda Otters, and between them managed 261 lengths, up from 224 last year.

Paul Barnett with his colleagues from Trident Honda Weybridge

Paul Barnett, Honda Sales Executive, retires today from Trident Honda, after 11 years service.

Martin Williams standing outside the Parts retail counter

We are delighted to announce that our parts supervisor, Martin Williams, completed his 30th year of service on Wednesday.

Martin joined us in 1989 at the age of 30, recruited to the role of Senior Parts Person, under our parts supervisor Ian Essex. At the time our managing director was still our founder - Michael Roberts, and Trident Honda was an Austin Rover main dealer selling Austin Metro, Maestro, Montego, Rover 200 (based on the Honda Ballade) and the new Rover 800 (based on the Honda Legend). Trident Honda had celebrated its 25th anniversary in the previous year.

My interview was with MR (Michael Roberts) and afterwards he brought me down and introduced me to Ian. Ian and myself were very similar in attitude and outlook and we got on straight from the start.

Martin recollects his first day:

Our new sales executive - Mike Emery

We are delighted to introduce our new sales executive, Mike Emery, who joined us in August.

We asked Mike to briefly introduce himself:

I joined my last position as sales executive for Honda in 2015. I enjoy working in the motor trade, it's more about people than you might imagine - doing the right job and matching people to the right car. I decided to apply to join Trident Honda, because of their reputation in both service and sales aspects, and their clear Company mantra of Customer First!

The Woking Rotary Swimathon 2018

Woking Rotary Club held their 11th annual Swimathon event at the Woking Pool in the Park on Sunday 14th October 2018.

The Swimathon was opened by Cllr Will Forster, Mayor of Woking, and Rotary President Richard Sanderson early on Sunday morning and teams of 6 people arrived throughout the day to make their charitable contribution swimming as many pool lengths as they could over 55 minutes.

Trident Honda has been the main sponsor for the event every year since its inception 11 years ago. This year we also had two teams competing in the event - The Trident Honda Otters: one team comprising Louise Vincer, Erin Dethick, Finn Dethick and Peter Vincer, managed 110 lengths of the pool; the other team comprising Chris Monk, Mathew Brough, Justin Creber and Charlotte Cawser, managed 114 lengths of the pool.

Our new defibrillator in its place on our reception wall

Following the redevelopment of its showroom, Trident Honda has now installed a fully automatic defibrillator in its customer reception area, for the protection of its staff and customers.

Richard Roberts, managing director of Trident Honda, explains:

Whilst we have never experienced a cardiac arrest on our premises in our 55 years of trading, nevertheless it would seem 'heartless' to forego this simple and affordable protection for our staff and customers. It is very unusual in business to purchase an item in the hope that it will never be used, but it is very reassuring to know that, should the worst should happen, we have the equipment to potentially save a life.

It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to our General Parts Manager, Ian Essex, after nearly 30 years of loyal service. One of the bedrocks of Trident Honda, Ian will be sorely missed by all, but we wish him every happiness for his new life in France.

Au revoir Ian!!
